We had a great adventure today and saw many beautiful sights. I'll be posting lots of pictures today.
First we skyped back home, the best start to every day when I get to hear about thier day, catch up, say I love you and good night...sweet dreams. Since it is 12 hours ahead here we then ate breakfast with our travel friends. We sat with the Gateo family who live in Odessa, not far from us. The other 10 families are from around the country...North Dakota, Colorado, California, Texas, Missouri and Utah. Then we hopped on a bus and made two stops. First to the Liurong Temple where we saw the Six Banyan Pagoda which is very very tall and received a blessing in a special ceremony in the temple for our little ones. Noelle had such fun on the bus dancing and playing peek-a-boo w/ a few of the Dads and big brothers..take not at home boys....she loves this!
Then we went to the Guangdong Folk Arts Museum where we learned about and saw how life was long ago in Guangdong, which is the province of China where we are now. It was a warm sunny day and I was thankful to have the stroller with me because it gets hot carrying her sometimes. We bought some souvenirs for back home and many of the Chinese women commented on how "strong" of a girl Noelle is. As you can see from the pictures, she has some adorable "strong" thighs. I guess they don't say chubby or healthy here, they say strong, at least that is the English word they kept using. It was cute so now I'm calling her my strong girl. We are 2 strong girls making our way through China together so we can get home to our boys.
Noelle is fond of our fabulous CCAI guides here in Guangzhou, Jason and Grace. They help us through our administrative stuff, take us where we need to go and teach us so much about China. There are a couple of pictures of them with Noelle.
Later today we had a meeting to complete all of our final paperwork for the US consulate appointment on Wednesday. Then that's it for paperwork...YAY! Noelle was the only little one in the room since the others were with their Dads and she kept us all entertained and laughing. It took many cheerios to get through that hour-long meeting with her in her stroller. If we had let her down she would have been in everyone's important documents. She was very happy to be set free after the meeting to run around. We'll go out to dinner later and call it an early night. Tomorrow we'll try out the pool. More soon...Katy and Noelle
